Learn How To Survive Disasters # 4

Bio-Chemical Attacks

History is full of war criminals using non conventional weapons against not only the soldiers of the enemy but also the children and women of a country. We,Iranians, have not been an exception and during the war. Our people experienced chemical weapons ,Japanese people suffered the consequences of nuclear blasts during the War,… Well if you add terrorists to the list of those people who might use biological, chemical or nuclear weapons ,these days it is fairly necessary to know the basic things you can during or after a non conventional attack on people. So why not learn it in English…

Are you ready ?

Here is what to do:

If you see or hear that there has been an attack,

Always look to the responsible people for instructions!

Turn on your radio or TV or log on to reliable websites to get the information about what to do.

But if you do not have access to the radio , TV, or the Internet, follow these steps to survive:

Get moving: evacuate the area!

Cover your mouth and nose with layers of cloth and move cross wind not down nor upwind to to get the least gas or biologically dangerous material.

If you are inside

Move upstairs!

Go to the highest level of the building Then seal off air vents and turn off air conditioners. Also seal doors and windows with damp towels and cloth

When you finis sealing the doors,

Take off  all clothing and accessories like bracelet, watch, ring, necklace,… also remove your contact lenses if you wear them.

Do not take off clothes by pulling them over you head: tear or cut them and seal all in a good container.

Wash your body with soap and water or 10 parts water , 1 part bleach

If no water is available ,

“Dry Clean” it !

Sprinkle talkum powder or flour over you skin to absorb liquid contaminates ,wait 30 seconds and brush off with a brush or gause.

Now to minimise contact,

Do not open the door to anybody!

If you must go out,

“Go under cover!”

cover your mouth and nose with cloth dampened with a mixture of water and backing soda and cover bear arms and legs and bandage any cuts or scratches before going out

This way you can break the outbreak!
